Transcall
What is Transcall?
A door to door volunteer transport service for all Visually Impaired People in Cardiff and the Vale, organised and operated by Cardiff Institute for the Blind.
What can the service be used for?
Social activities, appointments at hospital, meetings and visiting, but not for work.
When does the service operate?
Every day throughout the week up until 11pm. The most frequent request is for single journeys.
How are volunteers contacted?
By telephone or letter from Cardiff Institute for the Blind. Volunteers can offer as little or as much time as they are able.
Don't worry if you have to say NO.
Is there any payment?
Your passenger will donate £2.50 per single journey of up to 5 miles and 50p per mile there after. This is a token donation to help cover your costs.
