How do volunteers help?

They offer computer training, guidance and help on basic keyboard, computer, email and internet skills.

What kind of volunteer is needed?

We need computer literate volunteers who would be happy to work with blind and partially sighted people on a one-to-one basis.

Do I need to bring a thermos?

No – refreshments are provided and we can help with any travelling expenses.

How often will I be needed?

That’s up to you. For this service we prefer volunteers who are able to give a regular commitment. They will be working with people on a one-to-one basis.

What difference could your help make? Let our customers tell you:

“I have not long started my computer training. It’s brilliant and has truly enriched my life. I am learning a lot. I can now e-mail and have relations in Sweden and Norway that I will be able to contact regularly.”

“I love coming to computer training. I not only get to see the friends that I have made but I have learnt to email. My grandchildren think it’s great. They live in Australia and it’s the only way I can keep in touch.”
