ARRIVING BY BUS or TRAIN

Cardiff Central Railway and Bus Stations are adjacent.  From the Bus Station several local services ( 9, 9A, 44, 45, 51 ) can take you directly to the C.I.B.  Bus numbers 9 & 9A operate from Wood Street alongside the Bus station.

Alight at "West Grove" bus stop in Newport Road.  The C.I.B. is on the opposite side of the road by the traffic lights.

Queen Street Railway Station is also close to the C.I.B. but would usually require a connection from the Central Station.  If you arrive at Queen Street Station turn right out of the concourse and then first right into Newport Road.  The C.I.B. is about five minutes walk along Newport Road.

 

TRAVELLING BY CAR FROM THE EAST (NEWPORT)

As you head towards Cardiff from the east (Newport) on the M4, take the A48M at Jnct 29.

Take the 3rd exit slip road off the A48M signposted Llanederyn/ Cardiff Bay / City Centre.  Follow the CITY CENTRE directions. (keep to the left to avoid going over the flyover).

The CITY CENTRE route will take you right under the flyover onto Newport Road.

Keep going straight on through several sets of traffic lights for about 2 miles.

You will eventually pass a tall modern hotel (Mercure Holland House) on your left.

You will see the C.I.B. to the left, in front of you by the traffic lights.

Do not turn left at the traffic lights, as you will be on the wrong side of the dual carriageway to enable you to gain access.   Continue across the lights and take the first left to take you behind the C.I.B.   You will pass the "Knox Road Multi-story Car Park" if required.

Turn left at the traffic lights onto the dual carriageway.  Vehicle access to the C.I.B. is then within a short distance on your left signposted "GOODS INWARD".

 

TRAVELLING BY CAR FROM THE WEST (SWANSEA)

As you head towards Cardiff from the west (Swansea) on the M4 leave at Junction 33 signposted "Cardiff Bay". 

Continue along the A4232 towards Cardiff Bay.  When you have passed through the Cardiff Bay tunnels turn left and at the next roundabout bear slightly right onto Central Link Road.

Keep going straight on until you reach traffic lights at the T junction.  Turn right and then immediatley left at the next set of lights.  This is Fitzalan Place.

Straight on through the next set of traffic lights.  Vehicle access to the C.I.B. is then within a short distance on your left signposted "GOODS INWARD".

 

TRAVELLING BY CAR FROM THE NORTH (MERTHYR TYDFIL)

Continue on the A470 towards the City Centre.

As you approach the city, through several sets of traffic lights, you will pass the University and Civic buildings on your left. You will eventually reach a major set of traffic lights at the junction of Boulevard de Nantes.  Turn left onto the Boulevard.  It takes you across the front of the City Hall / Museum.  Continue straight on as the road bends right, now called Dumfries Place.  Within a short distance the road bends left and becomes Newport Road as you pass under a railway bridge.  The C.I.B. is on your right at the first set of traffic lights.

The Knox Road Multi-story car park is located behind the C.I.B. and can be accessed by turning right at these lights and then first right.
